Jake Patterson Joins HZCU as Director of Marketing
SPOKANE VALLEY, WA – Jake Patterson has joined the Horizon Credit Union team as director of marketing. Jake spent 11+ years in marketing at Northern Quest Resort & Casino. He is focused on leading a highly versatile and cross-functional team charged with nurturing the Horizon brand, serving members and contributing to the unique communities around Horizon. Along with his incredible colleagues and dedicated leadership, Jake is excited to contribute to Horizon Credit Union and the best-in-class financial products they offer.
When asked what he’s looking forward to most, Jake responded “I am looking forward to integrating into the Horizon team and adding to the already tremendous success of the organization. The marketing team, as well as the organization at large, has a track record as a market leader. I am most excited about stewarding that success for sustained and continued growth. Additionally, Horizon Credit Union’s commitment to its members and the communities surrounding its members is incredible. I am thrilled to have joined an organization that pours its heart and resources into the important work of so many other organizations whose mission and values align in making our community stronger, more resilient and healthy.”
Jake notes that he found the vast service area of Horizon astonishing. “While many organizations like Horizon centralize in one area, Horizon has found its way into four states and a myriad of diverse communities. That huge geographic footprint creates the uniqueness that is Horizon Credit Union, and it adds to the importance of our community stewardship programs. It allows us, as credit union employees, to show up in so many different places and directly support them in the exceptional ways each community deserves.”
“For me, the move to a credit union was all about impact.”
Making the change to the credit union industry was a strategic choice. “For me, the move to a credit union was all about impact. This opportunity represents the prospect of tying my professional pursuits and personal values together in a way few organizations can. The fact that an organization like Horizon grants all its employees paid time off to volunteer in the community is one of the many ways Horizon became a top choice for me.
In addition to the paid time off for volunteer work, Horizon is present in the many communities it serves in ways few people realize or see. The idea that an organization makes those contributions to people around them because it’s the right thing to do is remarkable.”
Jake is originally from central Washington (Wenatchee) and moved to Spokane 20 years ago. He says he considers the Pacific Northwest home. “I truly feel like we live in the best tri-state area of the country. The vast diversity in geography between Washington, Oregon and Idaho is a blessing beyond measure. The beauty, opportunity and cultural richness that is evident in the region makes our home truly unique. I am thankful to be raising my family in a place that provides so much opportunity to explore our natural environment in the unique ways only the mighty Pacific Northwest provides.”
Jake fills a position left open when the former director, Stefanie Robinson, was promoted to vice president of marketing and digital strategy.
